"Fore Russia's Kids"

The Yevgeny Girel Orphan's Foundation Second Annual “Fore Russia's Kids” Golf Scramble was held once again at Nevillewood Country Club on May 8, 2006. This year's event drew 26 four-man teams to compete at the Jack Nicklaus designed course to benefit the ongoing efforts of YGOF. As with our inaugural, event the Pittsburgh Pirate Alumni Association once again helped with our efforts with the participation of Elroy Face, Chris Peters, Sid Bream, and Frank Thomas. In all “Fore Russia 's Kids” 2006 raised nearly $10,000. Thanks go out to all of our sponsors and players for making this year's event a complete success.

This year the winners where determined by a scorecard play-off between the team of Lloyd Welling, J.Scott Wood, Corey Riddell, and Brian Reese and the team of Bob Shute, Bruce Hendry, Jack Thayer, and Wes Wujtov. Both teams posted scores of 11 under par 61. However on the third hole of a scorecard play-off the team of Lloyd Welling, J.Scott Wood, Corey Riddell, and Brian Reese claimed first place with a birdie.

Unfortunately there where no winners this year for the 2006 Harley-Davidson for a hole-in-one on #13 or $10,000 for a hole-in-one on #8.
