"Two Worlds, One Family"

"Younger than Springtime, Gayer than laughter..." The words of Rogers and Hammerstein were the perfect description of the animated faces of the beautiful models in their springtime finery at the Yevgeny Girel Orphans Foundation's 2nd annual "Two Worlds, One Family", fashion show and luncheon. Over 175 guests turned out to enjoy a lovely lunch as well as get a preview of Talbots "must have" fashion items for spring. They also took part in trying their luck at the Chinese auction, craft sale, and several special auctions.

The special auctions included four one day passes to Disney World, a basket chock full of Russian and American treasures and a ruby red Fabrege egg set that was truly breathtaking. Those who left the auction arena empty handed were able to console themselves at the extended table of baked goods.

Ludwigs Blumengarden generously donated the beautiful table arrangements and every guest left with two petite jars of Amish jam donated by Kitchen Kettle Village of Intercourse Pennsylvania.

But the day belonged to the children. Twirly skirted dresses, seersucker suits,vibrant colors, and mouthwatering fruit prints provided by Talbots Kids were no match for the models wearing them. With all the poise of seasoned runway walkers, these young models smiled, spun, and hit their poses with elan. The audience cheered as the models parents beamed with pride.

All proceeds from the event will go to improving the living conditions of children living in the Russian orphanage system. Event Chairperson Susie Grasky and her fellow committee members and volunteers are to be commended for making this such an enjoyable event.
